Learn about their lifecycle, ecology, and how to find moths in your area. Share your observations and get help with your identifications using iNaturalist! This is a no collecting event. Bring your device to use the app, sunglasses or UV safety glasses, and if you have your own: a moth identification book and hand lens. Come check out our lightsheet set-up and celebrate National Moth Week with us!
Participants will arrive at the library after hours for an outdoor moth talk. Participants will learn about the diversity of moths, their ecological role, some moths in our area, and how to use iNaturalist as an identification tool. Following the talk, participants will have the opportunity to observe moths drawn to specially lit sheets.
