MPS Genealogy Group meeting will include a tour and overview of the resources in the Ken Veitch Local History Room and a local history story presented by Lisa Rance. The fascinating true story, The Muskoka Orbit, details the 1921 friendship between a Bracebridge teenager and world-renowned astronomer and humanitarian John A. Brashear who was working on the developing the world's largest telescope at his summer residence 'Isle Urania' on Lake Muskoka. All welcome.
The Bracebridge Library is located within the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre at 34 Salmon Ave. The Library is a state-of-the-art facility with a makerspace, multipurpose room, & more!
